Psychotherapy

Benefits of Psychotherapy

  • Enhance self confidence and self esteem
  • Strengthen your ability to connect to others, building stronger, deeper relationships
  • Change limiting beliefs about yourself and the world
  • Help you to control the way you think, feel and act
  • Understand links from your past in relation to your present way of ‘being’ in the world

Whilst you need to feel you can trust your therapist you may not necessarily always feel comfortable with the changes that may occur within you. In fact, if your therapist’s questions don’t stir up a little discomfort, you may not be getting anywhere.

Irrational patterns of feeling, perception, and behaviour are not chosen or established on a conscious level but can influence your present way of relating to the ‘world’. This may be explored as part of the Psychotherapeutic process, which is generally longer term therapy.

How Does Psychotherapy Work?

Psychotherapy can enable you to gain a clearer understanding of how and why you feel, think and act as you do. Perhaps exploring your past and gaining an understanding of those links in connection with the present. Psychotherapists do not give advice or tell you what to do. Psychotherapy works by enabling and supporting you to explore and find your own solutions.
